25 & Dreaming

In keeping with tradition, here's what's happening in my life.
25 & Dreaming

Last year I wrote "24 & Skylarking," a birthday retrospective where I talked about all the things I'd done in the last year, and all the things ahead.

In keeping with tradition, here's what's happening in my life.

The Year To Here
A thousand things have happened since last summer. In October Bloody Disgusting was acquired by Cinedigm. This didn't immediately change my day to day duties, but a really big change was looking on the horizon.

Insidious Inspirations
I spent most of the winter working on a pitch for Insidious Inspirations, and in January of this year, our show launched! (If you haven't checked it out, you should! It's a true crime show about cryptids, curses, and all the surprisingly true stories that inspired iconic horror movies).
My favorite episode is "Martin - The Vampire of Sacramento" and it's actually so scary I had to ask someone else to review the audio for me! It's terrifying!!!
Insidious is already quickly growing into it's own audience, and I've let my incredible team take charge in making this show what it is. Nichole Goodnight is an incredible host and narrator, Danny Sweet is one of the most talented people I've ever met, and we're incredibly lucky that he makes such awesome music for the show! Our writers, Addison Peacock, Henry Galley, and Meg Tuten are so gosh dang smart and hard working. These are the people behind the scenes making the show happen.
All of this culminated in Insidious hitting 100,000 downloads in under 6 months!

Cinedigm
In March, I got hit with a life-changing opportunity. Tom Owen, founder of Bloody Disgusting, offered me a full time position as a Podcast Producer for Cinedigm!
I quit my retail job in November of 2019, my goal was to pursue podcasting full time. The first six months were rough, between the financial strain, and the beginning of the pandemic, but slowly overtime this Patreon grew to a point where I could not only support myself, but my crew too!
This Patreon community literally made my dream job a reality.
Now, I was given the opportunity to step into a full time role, which, aside from an awesome benefits package also meant a steady income, which freed up all of the Patreon proceeds to go right into our cast and crew! Everyone got raises, and I was able to bring Travis McMaster and Matt Roi Berger on this season as our full time editors!
If you're listened to the latest episodes, you know they're killing it.

All of this was possible thanks to you, our Patrons.

Engaged
Speaking of life changing events, there's been one in the making for the last four years!
Last December, my roommate Annika, my partner Mal, and myself started saving up and planning for a vacation to Iceland!
Iceland has long been one of my dream destinations, and I couldn't have better company on this trip.
And, in the most beautiful place on Earth, I proposed to my partner. They said yes.

What's Next
Man, what is next? A lot.
In just the next six months, I'm launching two new Bloody Disgusting originals, and an all new season of SCP!

Class of 76

The next season of SCP Archives will be the Class of '76, a 10-part serial starting this October!
We'll be diving into the origins of SCP-2316 (You Do Not Recognize The Bodies In The Water). On top of tackling one of the most belonged skips, we've also got two special guests to make this show come to life!
I'll have more to announce in the coming weeks, but needless to say, I'm incredibly excited for what's in store!

Skin Crawl

Bloody Disgusting has partners with legendary artist Skinner to adapt his "Skin Crawl" comics into an immersive, and spine chilling audio drama!
Skinner is one of the coolest creators I've gotten to work with!
Skin Crawl will follow the tales of Rotten Rollie, a dismembered witche's hand given mysterious life. Each episode Rollie will give us a peak into a strange and twisted world, perhaps not so different from our own...
You can learn more about Skinner on his website!

Production on this show is starting in the next few weeks, and I can't wait to dive in! The stories slated for our first season are strange, creepy, and just a little familiar. On this show, we're really leaning into the sound design to create one of the most immersive shows on the market!

Mayfair Watcher's Society

We're also teaming up with another incredible artist, Trevor Henderson! Trevor is the creator of a slate of incredible and terrifying creatures.
In this show, we'll be exploring the stories behind the sightings. How do these strange creatures interact with our world? Are they as deadly as they look? Why are they here?

Our glimpses into this strange world are limited to the found footage, recovered documents, and personal accounts of the Mayfair Watcher's Society.

Joining me on this project is Ben Counter (Project SERAPIS), Meg Tuten (Less is Morgue), Henry Galley, Gus Zagarella, and Addison Peacock!

6 Months
I am incredibly excited for each of these projects! I really think they're going to knock your socks off!

What I've shared today is just a little sneak peak into each of these shows. If you want to know more information as it's revealed, consider following me on Twitter!

I think that's all I have to talk about for now! I'm incredibly excited for this next year!!
And if you're reading this, thank you, for another awesome year. Your support, tuning in, sharing the show, it makes a world of difference.

We're able to do what we do, because of you ❤️
